Please add Filterable Tags to Notes - and make the tags unique to notes, not shared with other tags lists in the project.

By “filterable” I mean that if you click on a tag, the notes display will show only notes containing the tag.

This is a very important feature for development and world-building. Pro writers (like me) often use a wiki-type app for keeping track of complex world-building. Wiki-type apps have two main features: wiki-links (links to other pages with auto-backlinks) and tags that filter.

I’ve been using Obsidian in the simplest possible way for this, keeping track of all the characters, relationships, backstory events, motivations and story events. It would be grand to be able to do all that development work without leaving Arc Studio.

(For a good idea about implementation, download Obsidian for free and try out the tagging system.)

We do offer obsidian-style backlinks, so you can create a “Tag-note” and you will see all the notes that link to it within that note. We also just added note-groups, where you also can filter in the sidebar. Does this cover your use-case? (we could add a mechanism to filter by note-links in the sidebar as well)

It feels a bit high friction and kludgy, if I’m honest. Tags with # and @ are well-understood conventions. You’ve already got folders/categories and wikilinks, adding tags and filters makes a pretty solid wiki note system, and you can advertise it that way – a world-building wiki built right into your project – amazing for keeping continuity when developing a TV series.

Trying to do the same with backlinks just makes it seem poorly implemented. Especially when you think about all the other apps that allow tagging in notes.

FIltering tags and note-links in the sidebar is a good feature idea. I’d use it.

Thanks for considering my request.
